About this event
The Global Power Forum (GPF) is a premier, high-level platform convened by the Centre for Economic and Leadership Development (CELD) and the African Leadership Organization (ALO). GPF unites the twin legacies of two iconic gatherings — the Global Power Women Conference (GPWC) and the International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL) — into one powerful, inclusive movement.
Held annually in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), GPF brings together Heads of State, First Ladies, Global Business Leaders, Policy Makers, CEOs, Development Partners, and Change-Makers from Africa, South America, and the global diaspora.
This new forum reflects a strategic evolution — recognizing that global power today is about influence, partnerships, and collective impact. By collapsing these two historic forums into one, GPF amplifies voices, bridges continents, and strengthens women’s leadership and cooperation in the Global South under a single prestigious banner.
Theme Rationale
The 2025 theme — “Global Power for Shared Prosperity: Women, Leadership, and Partnerships Across the Global South” — underscores the urgent need for collaborative leadership that transcends borders and gender divides. It captures the essence of harnessing women’s voices, Africa-Caribbean partnerships, and global south networks to shape a new era of shared prosperity, inclusive growth, and sustainable development.

2. Amplify Women’s Leadership — spotlight women leaders shaping politics, business, diplomacy, and innovation.
3. Strengthen Afro-Caribbean Ties — promote intercontinental partnerships in trade, investment, climate resilience, and cultural exchange.
