We are a trail running club specifically for adventurous beginners to feel safe and free in exploring wonderful trails together.

The Good Footers Trail Run Club

The Good Footers Trail Run Club was created for adventurous beginners to feel safe and free in exploring wonderful trails across the South Pennines and the Peak District together.

We are an open, inclusive and social community valuing connection over clock-watching and supporting each other over smashing times. We're about breaking down barriers of entry and focus on creating a space for people to explore the outdoors in fun and engaging ways.

You may or may not already run? Or you may be hiking trails and want to try moving a little quicker? You might like the idea of trail running but don't have the knowledge of where to go or how to get started? You may just want to join a group of like-minded individuals who are about supporting one another and enjoy getting outdoors together.

Whatever your reason, you are absolutely welcome to join our weekly trail runs, professionally guided, faciliated and insured with Good Footing CIC.


Trail run routes - EVERY WEDNESDAY at 6PM (6:15 Depart)

We carefully plan and run different routes each week starting at approx. 5k and all vary in terrain and ascent. The pace will be easy with some walking in places and plenty of rests where needed. One thing that is guaranteed is the stunning scenery that you will experience running in the Holme and Colne Valley area of the South Pennines.

Booking and your donations

We have three different tiers of recommended donations. These are recommended amounts to help us continue delivering safe, fun and impactful outdoor activities for everyone.

Accessible - £5

Standard - £8

Supporter - £10

You can book each week individually or the month ahead if you wish. There is no pressure to commit to every week and you can donate any amount you wish.

Please do book ahead so we know who is turning up and can manage the day better with our co-hosts. Thank you.

KIT-LIST

Please make sure you pack the following and wear appropriate clothing for each trail run:

Grippy running trainers (ideally trail running trainers)
Enough layers (check the weather and think when we stop)
Good hydration
Head-torches (Autumn/Winter evenings)

WhatsApp group

We use a WhatsApp group chat to arrange all runs, share knowledge and support and keep some chat going. Please message Danny about joining the group.

Post run social

Whilst it's not a pre-requisite, we do have a post-run meet in nearby pubs or a warm drink and cake back at the rendezvous weather permitting.
