THE GOOD SOLDIER SCHWEJK

A satirical comedy adapted from the novel

by Jaroslav Hašek

“Schwejk” is enormously fascinating. It makes the case against the futility of war brilliantly. It is funny and provocative, as well as being beautifully acted, directed and designed”.

Nicolas Kent, Director and founder of The Tricycle

“Schwejk, bringing in strong effective references to Iraq and the arms trade, is thought provoking with important contemporary references. Brilliant”.

Richard Norton-Taylor, writer & journalist(The Guardian, Liberty)

“Deeply political, deeply theatrical. In an age of cynical, sneering, or witty and ironic political comment in the arts, Christines Edzard's Schwejk is very refreshing”.

Suzanne Andrade, 1927 Theatre

“Deeply political, arresting and vital. 'The Good Soldier Schwejk' is a must see”.“Truly original and full of heart. A timeless film that highlights the injustice of wars - old and new”.

Helen Monks & Matt Woodhead, Lung Theatre

“Neither an ordinary book adaptation nor a period drama selling a fake nostalgia. It is an audacious and groundbreaking endeavour with a clear artistic vision and unambiguous peace ideology”

Victor Fraga, Dirty Movies

Cast includes: JOE ARMSTRONG, KEVIN BREWER, SEAN GILDER, SHONA MCWILLIAMS, MICHAEL MEARS, AARON NEIL, ALFIE STEWART, ANDREW TIERNAN and MICHELE WADE.
