Dear Research Student,

Congratulations on joining the University of Portsmouth  to complete your research degree; we hope you are looking forward to starting with us in February. This Eventbrite is to invite you to attend the university-wide 'Getting started with your research' Induction on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th of February, 2021.

The Induction will run over two days from 09.30am-13.05pm on both days. They will be a mix of recorded and live/ interactive sessions.

This February the event will take place ONLINE . Further information as to the programme of events for the two days will follow shortly.

This two day event is compulsory for all new postgraduate research degree students (PGRs) so please make every effort to attend.

This is a very important event for you as it:

*  Introduces you to the knowledge, resources and software necessary to manage your research training

*  Introduces you to members of staff who will be important to you as a PGR at the University of Portsmouth

*  Gives you an opportunity to meet other PGRs from across the University

*  Provides you with an overview of the doctoral process and how best to manage it
