The Heart of England Forest Great Acorn Forage 2016
With hopes for a bumper crop of acorns this October, help us collect oak tree seeds for the forestry team to grow into mightly oaks.
There is a variety of ways you can get invovled:
Join one of our organised volunteer collection days
Visit The Heart of England Forest in your own time and leave your hoard at one of our acorn collection points
You can even send in acorns you gather from your own garden, local park or woodland.
Acorn foraging is something fun for all ages and a perfect opportunity to gather the family this autumn for an outdoor adventure and an exciting way to play a part in planting tomorrow's great native woodland.
All the collected acorns will be sorted at our tree nursery and after two years of nuturing and protecting, they will be ready to be planted where you will be able to see your harvesting task start to come to fruition.
Simply register now for free to receive your information pack with everything you need to know including the best places to visit for the hunt, how to join one of our volunteer collection days and how you can send in acorns you have collected from elsewhere. We aim to email your informaiton sheet to you later in September. Happy Foraging.
