Fri 7 July 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
We are pleased to announce that this summer, Oasis Academy Brislington will be holding ‘The Great Bristol Bake Off’ again on Friday 7th July 2017 and students and staff from Bristol Schools and Academies are invited to take part to help raise money for a variety of charities (including The Grand Appeal).
Due to the range of ages taking part in the event, there will be an overall winner for the following categories: Under 7’s, Under 11’s, Under 16’s and Over 17’s. A panel of Bristol Chefs will judge each category. The School/Academy that has the most participants will be awarded with a cooking/gardening hamper.
To enter this event, class teachers can fill out the application forms emailed out to all Bristol School and post it back to Rebecca Lee or Morgan White at Oasis Academy Brislington or individuals can register by following this link: https://thegreatbristolbakeoff2017.eventbrite.co.uk. The cost to enter the competition is £1 for students and £2 for staff, with all proceeds going to our chosen charities. This money can either be paid when registering for the competition (posted with registration sheets) or on the day.
The registration deadline is 3pm on Friday 30th June 2017. Participants can bake any creation of cake under the theme of Aardman Animations (visit http://www.aardman.com/work/ for further design ideas). Entries must be at the Academy by 9am Friday 7th July 2017 and can be delivered to the Academy prior to this on Thursday 6th July 2017. If you would like the Academy to collect your entries on Thursday 6thth July 2017, please contact us to book a time for collection. All cakes should be labelled with the schools name and participants name using the labels provided: Also attach the £1/£2 if you did not pay at registration. Alternatively if you book via Eventbrite, print and attach the ticket emailed to you.
Winners will be notified by 1pm on Friday 7th July 2017. A bake sale of all the entries will then take place to help raise even more money for our chosen charities. This event is scheduled to start from 3pm at Oasis Academy Brislington and all staff, students, and parents/guardians are invited to attend too. BBC Radio Bristol and the Bristol Post are planning to cover the event on the day.
If a participant does not wish their cake to be sold at the bake sale and would prefer to collect it instead, please state on the registration form. If you wish us to print hard copies of any of the resources, please do not hesitate to contact any of the staff mentioned above.
We hope you can support your students to participate in The Great Bristol Bake Off 2017 at school or at home, and look forward to receiving your registration forms in the near future.
