Join us for the Marine Conservation Society’s Great British Beach Clean —a citizen science event where hundreds of beach cleans take place across the UK. This event at Sandgate Beach is organised by Sandgate Environmental Action, and we’d love you to be part of it.
Meet at: Sandgate, Castle Road Carpark Folkestone CT20 3AQ
We’ll be tackling different sections of the beach, but we’ll all meet at Castle Road Carpark to kick things off. Whether you’re a seasoned beach cleaner or a first-timer, your time and energy will make a real difference.
What We Provide
- Litterpickers and collection bags
- A limited supply of gloves (please bring your own if you can)
What to Bring
- A rucksack with essentials: sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, snacks, and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course)
- Strong gloves (gardening gloves work well)
- Sturdy shoes for safety and comfort
Under 16s
Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Why It Matters
- Every piece of litter removed helps protect marine life.
- We'll log everything we collect so the data can be used by the Marine Conservtion Society in their research and campaigning work. Visit their website to find out more.
It would help if you could book this event just so we can ensure we have enough equipment, thank you.
