Event description

Description

April's UK Escape Room Unconference will be held at Summerhall in Edinburgh - a quirky and original venue close to Edinburgh Waverley train station and the bus station. The lovely peeps at LockedIn are running free sessions from noon on Monday to noon on Wednesday if you're staying over, and on the evening of the event as well.

There will be some more formal talks at the event as requested: "LinkedIn for generating corporate sales" from Lianne Coates & Liz Cable and "Scriptwriting for Escape Rooms" from Guðni Líndal Benediktsson, and a panel session on "Advanced Escape Game Design". These will run alongside the usual planned-on-the-day sessions.

We'll also have an "Escape the Fishbowl" session where the most experienced Escape Room Owners in the room get padlocked to a chair, and only released once they've answered a question from the fishbowl to the satisfaction of the crowd (in theory, at least). Everyone is encouraged to ask their trickiest questions anonymously by putting them in the fishbowl.

We'll have a quick chat about the upcoming joint marketing event at the UK Games Expo, and a couple of other sessions to be decided on the day. If you have a suggestion, we're all ears.

As ever the cost of the ticket covers lunch, refreshments and a contribution to room hire on the day.

This event is open to owners, staff and enthusiasts from Scotland and beyond.

We offer free Scribe's tickets each event to those who are willing to help organise the day, make notes of sessions to share afterwards, and generally help hardworking ER Owners have a great day of learning, sharing, relaxing and networking. If you'd like to be considered for a Scribe's ticket, please email the organiser.
