Event description

Description

Covering 1215 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End in March 2019, The Great Rugby Cycle is a charity cycling event to raise funds and awareness for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The peloton is travelling through Scotland and England during the latter part of the 2019 Six Nations Championship featuring rugby legends and stars from sport & TV.

Doddie Weir, the former Scotland and British and Irish Lions rugby player, revealed he was suffering from Motor Neurone Disease. From the outset, Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers and seek ways to further research into this, yet, incurable disease.

My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was launched in November 2017 and its aims are simple; to raise funds to aid research into the causes of MND and investigate potential cures and to support this affected by this devastating disease.

Join the peloton for 79 miles from Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club to Winchester with Rugby legends, Carl Hayman, Tim Stimpson, Simon Danielli, Tom May, Paul Doran Jones, Thom Evans & Paul Burnell.

Transport will be provided from Winchester to Royal Mid-Surrey after the cycle.

Price includes:

- Fully supported and escorted ride by The Road Shepherds.

- Food & refreshments with comfort stops along the way.

- Event branded T-shirt.

- Transported by bus from Winchester back to the original starting point at The Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club.
