A historical exploration of the largest private Deer Park in England, using ancient footpaths that defined the boundary wall, part of which can still be seen, in the knowledgeable company of a renowned Elizabethan Historian and author. Maps relating to the walk will be on sale and there is a café and toilets en route.
Start: 10.30 am Bus stop in front of Lidl on Castlebeck Avenue, S2 1DS. (not the Prince of Wales Road entrance)
Finish: 2.00 pm Moorhead, Eyre Street, S1 4QY (return with guide on bus to start if required)
Travel: If by bus, 24 bus at 10:02 from AG3 on Arundel Gate (Check to see if times altered)
Parking: First left after Lidl Supermarket on Saxonlea Drive, which leads direct on to the side of the recreation ground - easy street parking at no charge.
Terrain: Hilly to start with (less than a mile), before leveling off and then mostly downhill. 5 miles (8km)
