Event description

Description

“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent” Victor Hugo

The Grey Dog Festival aims to create a conversation about mental health amongst young people, to bring the subject out of the shadows, and challenge the stigma attached to it, so that the barriers to seeking support are removed.

The festival is based in Overstone in Northamptonshire. The Scouts Camping Ground at Overstone is a beautiful venue with a big open field and 14 acres of woodland.

There are 3 stages at the event catering for a range of musical tastes. The Main Stage will have bands from around the country with styles ranging from gentle folk right through to gypsy punk and prog rock. The Mind Over Matter stage based just on the edge of the woodland area is where you will find Hip Hop and spoken word artists performing. If you want a more chilled out vibe head down to the Acoustic Stage.

As well as music there will be mindfullness and yoga workshops, stalls selling merchandise and representing mental health charities. There will also be a variety of food vendors with healthy eating being the focus.

As well as a full day of music on Saturday we can offer camping in our woodland area on the Friday and Saturday night. Spend Friday evening singing around the campfire with a few of the people who will perform during the day on Saturday.

After the main stage finishes on Saturday night why rush off? Just head back to your tent to unwind. Then head home on Sunday morning relaxed and refreshed.
