Description

This workshop will consider the value of cultural and historical perspectives on the relationship between the gut and the brain, an area of our lives that so emphatically crosses somatic, emotional and psychological experiences. The confirmed keynote speaker for this event is Professor Elizabeth Williams (Oklahoma State University), who has published seminal articles on psycho-gastric conditions in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

By Plane:

Glasgow International Airport

First Bus service (77) connects the West End of Glasgow and the airport. The Glasgow Airport Express (500) bus service connects the city centre and the airport.

Taxi fare from the airport to the West End costs approximately £21. From the city centre to the West End costs approximately £8.

By Train:

Both Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street Stations have nearby subway stations which go to the Glasgow university campus.

If arriving at Glasgow Central, take the St Enoch SPT Subway inner circle to 'Hillhead'. From here it is a 5 minute walk to Bute Gardens.

If arriving at Glasgow Queen Street, take the Buchanan St subway inner circle to 'Hillhead'. From here it is a 5 minute walk to Bute Gardens.
