About this event
Our Big Get-Together (BGT) annual conference in Northampton on Saturday 22 November is a chance to get together with people with bleeding disorders and their families to learn about new treatments and share experiences.
The BGT is a friendly, informal event which is free to all our members. Whether you’re recently diagnosed or have been living with a bleeding disorder for many years, you’ll find plenty of new information about your condition at BGT. You’ll also meet other people from around the UK with a bleeding disorder.
We’ll be joined by Ed Fuller, the star rower who won a gold medal with his crew at the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, who lives with haemophilia. He will take part in a family-focused session on the importance of being active. There’s also an afternoon workshop for young people with bleeding disorders aged eight upwards.
We’ll have dedicated morning sessions for people with rare bleeding disorders, such as Glanzmann thrombasthenia and factor V deficiency, as well as workshops for people with VWD and haemophilia.
You will also get to choose which sessions you would like to sit in on:-
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Infected Blood
Being Active / Getting The Most From Life
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Navigating Emergency Care
Ageing With Confidence
Most importantly, there are lots of breaks to talk to other people with a bleeding disorder about what matters to you. Lunch is included and we hope you’ll stay for drinks at the end of the conference to reflect on the day.
