About this event

Government • Other

The University of Stirling is proud to be the first Scottish University to host the SLS Hale lecture. This lecture is delivered annually, sponsored by the Society of Legal Scholars (the learned society for legal academics in the UK and Ireland) and the host Law School.

Lady Hale, former President of the UK Supreme Court, whose name is given to the annual lecture, will introduce Lady Hood. The lecture will focus on the legal rules that apply to disputes involving cross-border elements between two or more of the three legal systems in the UK (England and Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland).

This event is open to all.

Stirling has a fabulous castle and it is on the edge of the highlands, so you may wish to turn the event into the start of a lovely weekend in Scotland.

The contact person for the lecture is Professor Paul Beaumont FRSE, Professor of Private International Law, School of Law, University of Stirling and Convenor of the Society of Legal Scholars for Scotland. paul.beaumont@stir.ac.uk.
