THE BANDS:

The Hicksville Bombers
It takes commitment to outshout the engine roar from vintage automobiles, but if anyone’s got what it takes it’s The Hicksville Bombers. The latest iteration of the trio features a tight rhythm section, delivered by the hard-hitting two-kick of Paul Sanders on drums and thumping slap grooves from Landon Filer on double bass. Frontman, Dave Brown, not only delivers lead vocals and blistering guitar riffs, but is also the Bombers’ main songwriter. That’s right! — The Hicksville Bombers play their own material mixed with carefully selected covers and performed in their own unique style. Their wild #rockabilly sound draws inspiration from the 1950s originals, Rock'n’Roll and their own proprietary ‘Bluesabilly’ style. If you have heard their 2018 release ‘Danger Road’ (which topped the UK Indie Rock Chart in September) you will have heard the raw, unaltered live sound of The Hicksville Bombers, as the studio recordings are completely free of overdubs and modern processing!

The Revolutionaires official
The “Big Band” line-up featuring an extended horn section and pianist turns the already hard-hitting Revolutionaries into a rockin’ powerhouse with a bigger, bolder and more potent sound. Inspired by the hottest R&B names of the 1940s and 1950s, incl. Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and Roy Brown, The Rev’s deliver their own updated take on the classic sound. With more energy and virtuoso guitar solos than any other blues and rock ensemble on the UK and European rockin’ circuit - they are sure to get the entire hangar rocking! For two decades they have toured extensively both in the UK and abroad, establishing themselves as a highlight on major European blues and rock venues and festivals. Their live act is as seasoned as it is energetic, so there’s no risk you will get bored if The Rev’s are on the stage! — For a foretaste, simply have a listen to any of their 5 albums, you will not be disappointed!

Darrel Higham & the Enforcers
As a guitar player, Darrel Higham has shared stage and recorded with an almost endless list of artists incl. Robert Plant, Jeff Beck, Paul McCartney, Bono, Jools Holland, Imelda May, Shakin’ Stevens and many more… In his early 20s he lived for a period in the US, touring and recording with his idol, Eddie Cochran’s original backing band; The Kelly Four. In 1995 he recorded his first solo album and already the next year he was playing the lead guitar in the West End’s production of Elvis — his other great idol. Between recording solo albums, touring Europe and recording with world renowned artists, Higham has been touring and recording equally extensively with his rockabilly band; The Enforcers since the 90s. This is the constellation that will rock Hangar 42 with world class rockabilly. If you are into the heritage of Elvis Presley and Eddie Cochran, then it doesn’t get any more direct from the source than Darrel Higham & the Enforcers!

MATCHBOX-The Hit Line Up
Formed in 1971, with a few additions in the late 70s, Matchbox still consists of the original line-up that recorded smash hits like “Rockabilly Rebel”, “When You Ask About Love”, “Midnight Dynamos”, and “Over the Rainbow”. The five-man strong quintet delivers a massive wall of sound with both rhythm and lead guitar parts, tight drums and double bass laying down the foundation for the band’s now classic rockabilly hits. — With all members joining in on vocal, Matchbox will easily fill out the hangar with as much noise as a 1940s aircraft taking off! With over 5 Million records sold across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, countless TV appearances, and tours with names like Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Chuck Berry, Matchbox established themselves as one of the most influential bands on the British Rockabilly and Rock ’n’ Roll scenes. With the resurgence of the revival rock and rockabilly genres in the mid-90s the original Matchbox line-up reunited in 1996 and haven’t slowed down since!

The Polecats
Formed in north London in 1977, Polecats were a key part of the early eighty’s British rockabilly revival scene. From the clothes, the hairstyles, and the dynamic live act, to the music itself, the quartet still delivers classic rockabilly sound with percussive slap bass and blistering guitar solos. Over the years they have earned their original name; Cult Heroes — a name they had to drop because promoters found it too “punk” sounding back in the day. But today their cult status is indisputable, right down to the point that Disney Pixar used their 1983 hit, "Make a Circuit with Me" in the television trailers for the Wall-E movie. With a clear influence from 70s glam rock and punk, Polecats’ musical universe never gets old. They even managed to score several British Top 40 Singles over the last four decades! You can easily dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for one of the best live acts in the history of British Rockabilly!

Crazy Cavan 'n' the Rhythm Rockers
Regarded as the greatest Teddy Boy band of all time, Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers has built a huge following throughout Europe. These rock ’n’ roll veterans from South Wales have been rocking stages since the mid-sixties in various constellations. But since forming the original Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers in 1970, their line-up has remained unchanged aside from the addition of bassist Graham Price. These rockers remain as mean-looking, wild, dynamic and energetic on stage as they were back in the day. And even though time has passed, the music is still driven by flashy lead guitars, tight rhythms, and an attitude more unapologetic than Crazy Cavan Grogan’s sideburns! Over the course of four decades these rockers have delivered their non-compromising mix of Teddy Boy and Rockabilly on numerous records and countless live performances. With an occasional beautiful ballad added into the mix, they manage to keep their sets balanced and dynamic. — make sure you bring you dancing shoes!

RESTLESS - Official page (Neo Rockabilly)
With several studio and live albums, Restless is probably the most successful Neo-Rockabilly band never to have charted. If you haven’t experienced these four rockers live before, do yourself a favour and find their 1989 ‘Live in Tokyo’ album. Their first studio album is by fans held as the perfect Neo-Rockabilly album, in terms of song writing, musicianship, lightning charged energy and just the overall attitude of the album. But it is their live act that really make the music come alive and that’s as true today as it was in the 80s. The line-up might have shifted a bit over the years, but that was probably exactly what was needed to keep the energy up for so many years. Since the mid-80s Restless have sold thousands of records and toured the world — and they will surely rock hangar 42 too!

The Blue Cats UK & Beltane Fire
Formed in 1980, this London based quartet shook the Rockabilly scene with the release of their seminal debut record, FIGHT BACK in 1981. Their unique fusion of Rockabilly with New Wave music in the 1980s earning them the label of the original Neo-Rockabilly act. The musical innovations didn't stall at any point during the first decade of the bands career: A year later in 1983 they recorded a highly experimental EP under the new name ‘The G-Men’, and in 1984 they gaining huge success and a cult following on the alternative London club circuit as ‘Beltane Fire’. In 1989 they got their international breakthrough invading New York City as ‘Flame of the West’. But it was under their original name, The Blue Cats that they recorded their critically acclaimed album ‘THE TUNNEL’. The current line-up of Clint Bradley, Stef Edwards, Carlo Edwards and Steve Whitehouse recorded their latest critically acclaimed studio album in 2012, rightfully titled; ‘BEST DAWN YET’ proving that the veterans still got it!

Sonny West
Mr. West might look exactly like your favourite rockabilly guitar idol, wearing bold suits, slinging a big box Gretsch guitar… But the moment he plugs in and starts ripping out lightning fast guitar licks or steps up to the microphone, you’ll immediately discover that he possesses immense talent and versatility as an artist. Not only does he deliver his performance with great passion, skill and energy, he effortlessly spans form Elvis inspired Rock ’n’ Roll, to guitar instrumentals and even smooth rock ballads. One thing is certain, you will never get bored during a Sonny West set!
