As part of Black History Month 4 All, A.Xodus, Nightspot Cinema, and Age UK Waltham Forest, present the cult classic, The Harder They Come. Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff blazes onto the screen as Ivan Martin, a country boy chasing fame in Kingston. Swindled on arrival, he’s pulled into the city’s underworld—preachers, hustlers, and the ganja trade—until his music and his outlaw persona make him both a star and a fugitive. Perry Henzell’s 1972 classic The Harder They Come not only electrified cinema but also catapulted reggae onto the world stage.
