By day a tranquil haven, yet by night a dark, forbidding place. Join us as we explore Provan Hall House, a location steeped in history, superstition and lore. Hear haunting tales of it’s dark history and restless spirits - who often like to make their presence felt! You may even meet them before the night is through.....

Since 2006, our 'Haunted Tours' have thrilled and intrigued many a believer and sceptic alike with our unique combination of storytelling in a spooky, historic location and the use of handheld ghosthunting equipment. What better way to bring the past to life?

We pride ourselves in giving visitors a genuine experience, so have absolutely NO 'jumper-ooters' waiting in the dark corridors to frighten our guests or rattle chains!

*Our tours may be filmed or photographed for use by History and Horror Tours or Provan Hall House for marketing and publicity. By purchasing a ticket, guests are consenting to being filmed or photographed during the event. If this is an issue please speak to our guide before the tour starts.

*Warning: This site has a reputation of being an active paranormal location, therefore this tour is not for the faint-hearted. You take part at your own risk!

* This tour is for 12yrs+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult)

*Tours run throughout the year, please wear sensible footwear and dress accordingly.

Tour lasts approx 2hrs.

For private or group bookings outwith the regular tour times call 07840094667. There is a minimum fee including a deposit for private hire.

*Please note; we want you to enjoy your night, but if any group or individual seems under the influence of alcohol/substances and/or is disruptive, they will be asked to leave the tour.

If there are not enough tickets for the booking you are trying to make please get in touch, there may still be spaces available.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Although we only allow12yrs+, we always maintain that you know the child better than we do, some 14yr olds may hide behind the sofa during Dr Who, while a 12yr old will laugh in the face of a Dalek! Please take this into consideration when purchasing a child's ticket.

Please note that children may get cold or scared. If so please think about other paying guests on the tour and of your child's welfare. If the tour is already underway tickets cannot be refunded. If our guide or the location's steward on the night feel that your child is too frightened, you will be asked to leave as we have no desire to traumatise any minors. You will also be required to give your child a treat of their choice!

Children under 18yrs must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Provan Hall House is easily accessible by car or public transport with parking onsite .

What can I bring into the event?

A limited amount of candles will be provided but guests are welcome to bring their own torches as long as they are switched off during storytelling.

We are happy for photographs to be taken throughout the event but please refrain during the stories as it can be quite distracting.

If you fancy yourself as the next Yvette Fielding or Maurice Grosse, you are welcome to bring any handheld equipment such as EMF meters, thermometers and cameras, however, we ask that they are used during the allocated points in the tour.

If you do wish to use any type of recording equipment (audio or video) please inform your guide and switch them off during each story.

What's the refund policy?

Eventbrite's fee is non-refundble unless the tour is cancelled by History and Horror Tours or Provan Hall House.

if you can't make it or are running late, then we will know if you are on your way and can look out for you arriving.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, a digital version on your mobile device is fine.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes. If for any reason you can't join us we will happily welcome somebody else in your place. Please make sure that any child aged18yrs or under is still accompanied by a responsible adult.
