An Invitation:

You are invited to our first-ever Inspiring Leadership Conference, Centre Parcs, Sherwood Forest.

The purpose of the conference is to give inspiring leaders a platform to share their stories with you, in the knowledge that it will inspire you to continue to do great things.

There will be time to connect, to think, to plan, and to learn from others. All in an environment designed to inspire and enable you to create and plan together. 

Leading education experts will come together, share their experiences and knowledge, inspiring you to explore different ways to plan and generate new ideas for your setting.

With 12 workshops to choose from throughout the day, you will have the chance to hear from serving headteachers and leading experts on the following topics such as overcoming challenges, developing the culture of your school, and lots more. 

Organised by school leaders, for school leaders, this insightful event is one not to be missed! What will be the first in a series of in-person events, ‘Inspiring Leaders’ will take you and your team on a journey of discovery from the start of the day to the end.

About the Conference:

We have many exciting and inspiring activities planned throughout the day, including workshops, presentations and networking opportunities; we are creating the time and space for schoolteachers and leaders to share best practice and learn from each other, all within the relaxing forest setting of Centre Parcs, Sherwood Forest. We want the Conference to give you and your staff team the space and opportunity to plan, to create and to share in the ideas of your colleagues from across the country.

We will be joined by fantastic keynote speakers throughout the day who will take you and your team on a journey of discovery into inspiring leadership, all within a setting aimed at improving your wellbeing, with time to catch up with colleagues, plan together, and meet others.

(With access to Centre Parc's facilities being available for all attendees after 5:30pm)

For all school leaders, in any leadership role, and especially beneficial for school leadership teams.

The day is particularly suitable for those who wish to bring their senior leader teams, as you will be seated on round tables so you can sit together and plan.

Sam Strickland - Principal BA (Hons), MA, NPQH, The Duston School

Sam began his teaching career as a history teacher in Bedfordshire having completed his PGCE in secondary history at the University of Cambridge under Christine Counsell. Sam’s career quickly accelerated, becoming a Head of history and classics. He then moved on to become a Lead Professional and worked for a SCITT Consortium. Sam has also had educational resources and research published and organised ResearchED Northampton. He has also delivered courses nationally. Sam then became an Assistant Head where he had responsibility for the Sixth Form and led a Post 16 consortium arrangement. Sam then served as a Vice Principal, where he directly oversaw student care, the Sixth Form, the curriculum and served as the safeguarding lead for an entire trust. Sam also served as a lead facilitator for NPQSL. In 2015 Sam served as an Associate Principal, with GCSE and A Level results under his tenure receiving commendation from the DFE, Nick Gibb and the SSAT. Sam is now the Principal of a large all-through school and has helped to guide its GCSE results from the bottom 20% nationally to the top 20% and A Level outcomes to the top 5% nationally.

Russell Prue is a well-known character in the Edtech World, he’s an educator and published author. Russell regularly hosts live shows for colleagues and young people on his broadcasting platform LearnRadio.Net. He’s been a major part of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Events in Cardiff with his live broadcasts that accompany the shows. Russell has worked at every BETT Show since it started properly in 1985. During lockdown and throughout the Pandemic Russell has been working with colleagues to produce regular live educational shows for children and young people at home and at school, including a series on Crafting, After School Books Clubs and Mental Health & Wellbeing Shows. From the first day that Schools partially closed in March 2020, Russell had a live learning show with Pie Corbet and friends that generated a listening audience of over 1.2M young people.He’s in his 13th year of building outstanding radio stations for schools, 373 are in the UK but he has one in Singapore and two in Dubai.
