The Healing Page: Creative Writing Workshops
Join us at the Old Fire Station (The Art Room) for The Healing Page—a series of creative writing workshops designed to nurture wellbeing, calm, and self-discovery. Through words, we’ll explore what healing truly feels like and how we can gently shift from discomfort into a space of restoration. Guided with care, curiosity, and compassion, these sessions offer a supportive space to write, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.
Bringing over 15 years of experience leading and co-facilitating writing-led wellbeing sessions, Anne-Marie Cockburn has collaborated with a diverse range of groups and organisations, including the NHS Senior Leadership Team, University of Oxford (Apprentice Wellbeing Day), Restore (Wellbeing Day), the Youth in Mind Conference, the Free Word Festival (online), and prison groups through Restore, the prison programme run by The Forgiveness Project. These experiences have demonstrated how creative writing can serve as a powerful tool for reflection, emotional wellbeing and connection—regardless of background or circumstance.
From the moment she was able to pick up a pencil, writing became Anne-Marie’s solution to navigate through difficult moments in life. She describes it as her 'fourth emergency service' and loves the simplicity and power that putting words on a page can bring.
She is the author of the critically acclaimed book, 5,742 Days: A Mother's Journey Through Loss, which was launched on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, selling over 10,000 copies. Her work focuses on using personal experience as a tool for healing.
No prior writing experience is necessary, just turn up as you are in this very moment.
