This engaging and informative course consists of 20 hours of teaching by Consultant Herbalist and Iridologist, Alan Payne.

Starting on Saturday October 4th, the course will run over 4 sessions, each consisting of 5 hours teaching and a 30 minute break. Each session will start at 1.00pm and run until 6.30pm. Please scroll down to see course fees, dates and syllabus content.

COURSE DATES & SYLLABUS OUTLINE

SESSION 1: Saturday October 4th - 1pm

In this session you will be introduced to the world of Herbal Medicine. We will cover natural healing principles, the chemistry of herbs and how to prepare herbs. Then we will move on to look at 16 fantastic herbs that support the nervous system.

SESSION 2: Saturday October 18th - 1pm

Today we delve into the healing benefits of over 20 herbs that support the Digestive system and the Immune System.

SESSION 3: Saturday October 25th - 1pm

Now we investigate over 20 herbs that support the Lymphatic system, Skin & Kidneys as well as herbs that relieve conditions such as Arthritis and Gout.

SESSION 4: Saturday November 1st - 1pm

In our final session together we will uncover the benefits of 20 + herbs that support the Hormonal System and the Circulatory system, as well as beneficial herbs for the Prostate, Lungs and Eyes.

LOCATION

This course is held at Sutton Coldfield Methodist Church Community Centre, a wonderful venue with extensive facilities. There is ample car parking available on site and a public car park opposite.

Getting there by car

South Parade is approached from Upper Holland Road, opposite the entrance to Plantsbrook School. Please note, there is no access to the upper part of South Parade from the ring road.

Getting there by public transport or walking

The Church centre is easily accessible from the town centre:

  • The walk from the train station is approximately 10 minutes
  • The walk from The Parade is approximately 5 minutes

From the train station walk down Station St and carry on down the hill (Victoria Rd). Follow the road round to the right and you will be on Lower Queen St. You will see TGI Fridays and TK Maxx on your right. Directly opposite you, on the other side of the road you will see a walkway leading onto South Parade. Walk down South Parade and you will see the Church centre on your left.

From the bus stops on The Parade, either walk down Victoria Rd by going past Macdonalds and turning right and follow the instructions above. Or walk down The Parade, keeping the shopping centre on your right, and follow the road round. This is South Parade, you will walk past Santander and the indoor markets. Follow the road round to the right and you will be on Lower Queen St. You will see TGI Fridays and TK Maxx on your right. Directly opposite you, on the other side of the road will see a walkway leading onto South Parade. Walk down South Parade and you will see the Church centre on your left.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I reserve my place?

You will receive an automated order confirmation email from eventbrite entitled "you've got tickets" Then, within 24 hours you will receive a welcome email from Dee (dee.wisemonkey@gmail.com) setting out your payment options . Please check your spam folder just in case.

Do you have payment plans available?

Yes we do, details will be on your welcome email. We are keen to offer this teaching to all and will be happy to discuss options with you

Do you have an early bird discount?

Yes! We have an early bird discount for bookings made before Sept 20th - sign up before then and pay £329 instead of £349

Will there be breaks during each session

We will have a short break in each session. We have a lot to get through in our time together but we will still make time for a cuppa and comfort breaks.

Do I get a physical workbook to keep?

Yes you do. You will receive printed workbooks containing details of everything covered in the session. You will be given a folder in session 1 containing your session 1 workbook. Then you will receive a new workbook for your folder in each of the following sessions.

Should I bring a pen & notebook/paper?

Please bring a pen / highlighter etc. If you are a prolific writer (or prefer to not make notes in your workbook) bring a notebook or pad with you. We find that an A4 holepunched pad is useful to write notes and slot them into your folder alongside your workbook pages.

Are drinks available?

We have access to a kitchen so we are more than happy to make you a cuppa. Please feel free to bring your water bottle and any snacks you may need for the break.

What else should I bring?

Bring anything that will make you comfortable. We are in a classroom environment so bring a cushion if that is helpful when sitting for long periods
