Description

The Healing the Power of Meditation

Day retreat Sat 5 October | 10am - 1pm

“So much of the stress and tension we normally experience comes from our mind, and many of the problems we experience, including ill health, are caused or aggravated by this stress. Just by doing breathing meditation for ten or fifteen minutes each day we will be able to reduce this stress. We will experience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind, and many of our usual problems will fall away.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Discover the many benefits that meditation can have on our health and wellbeing. Such benefits have been known by Buddhist practitioners for thousands of years and the lineage of these instructions and practices remain intact.

We will be introduced to several meditations that can restore the harmony of the inner elements within our body as well as more profound meditation practices to heal our mind of the poisons of anger, attachment and ignorance that Buddha taught to be root the cause of all sickness.

Kadampa Meditation Centre London provides the perfect setting to retreat from the busyness of London life and cultivate peace within. Although centrally located, it is fully sound proofed and a few minutes’ walk away from the beautiful Holland Park which can be used for contemplative walks in the break.

This course is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to experienced meditators.

What will each session consist of?
Each session will include a combination of teachings and guided meditations with an opportunity to ask questions at the end and socialize with like-minded people during the break time.

Do I need to bring anything or wear anything special?
No. All sessions will take place on chairs but there are optional cushions if you prefer to sit cross-legged. You don’t need to bring anything else with you, but some people like to take notes during the session, so feel free to bring a paper and pen.

What if I’m new to this?
Everyone is welcome to participate in this course and will benefit both new and experienced people alike. Our reception staff will happily recommend some follow on reading or classes after the course if you are interested.

More questions?
Contact info@kmclondon.org and someone will happily help you with your query.
