JA journey through the HEART, the SPIRIT and the healing power of Chinese Herbs and Teas.

--> Sunday, November 2nd , 3:00–6:00 pm.

🔥 Part One – The Heart, the Fire Element, and the Spirits (Shen) From 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

In Chinese Medicine, the Heart is considered much more than just an organ that pumps blood; it is viewed as the Emperor, the heart of our emotional universe and the nurturing home of Shen, the spirit that brings light to our mind and soul.

I decided to create this course because I still warmly remember the moment I first read about the Heart in Chinese Medicine and how beautifully it describes the intricate and profound dance of our emotions. It opened my eyes to a wisdom that gently connects the body, mind, and spirit with such grace.

The Five Spirits, or Shen, beautifully represent different facets of who we are: clarity, memory, intuition, emotional depth, and our unique ability to connect with others. When we take the time to understand the Shen, it opens a lovely, poetic window into how our emotions live within us and how we can cherish and nurture them with even greater kindness and wisdom.

During this first part of our afternoon together, we’ll explore:

  • How the Heart is viewed in Traditional Chinese Medicine, both physically and spiritually
  • The Fire Element and its connection to joy, warmth, and presence
  • The Five Shen and how they shape our emotional and spiritual life
  • What happens when the Heart is out of balance, and how to gently bring it back to harmony

🍵 Part Two – Calming the Heart: Chinese Herbs and the Ritual of TeaFrom 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

After this initial exploration, we will naturally transition into the second part of our afternoon, where we shift from understanding to practice — from theory to something you can experience with your senses, and take home with you.

Together, we will explore a selection of Chinese medicinal herbs traditionally used to calm the Heart and soothe the Shen, the spirit that grants us presence, clarity, and emotional balance. These herbs have been employed for centuries to alleviate anxiety, quieten the mind, support sleep, and bring warmth and peace when emotions feel overwhelmingly strong or burdensome.

You will be invited to:

  • Get to know a few gentle, grounding herbs and their emotional qualities
  • Taste and reflect on how each combination feels in your body
  • Learn how to prepare a cup of tea not just for the body, but for the spirit
  • Create your personalised herbal tea blend, based on how you’re feeling that day

You don't need any previous experience; only curiosity and a desire to reconnect with yourself in a gentle and meaningful way.

You’ll leave with your own Chinese herbal tea blend, carefully crafted by you, to support your heart in the days ahead, a warm and nourishing reminder of what you have discovered within yourself.
