Event description
A fantastic ensemble piece by Rory Kinnear. Heartfelt, witty, and an emotional rollercoaster of an evening.

About this event

It’s Andy’s 21st Birthday! The cake is baked, the presents are wrapped, the guests are arriving, and all we need are the fireworks!

Rory Kinnear certainly brings plenty of those to the party in this emotive black comedy. What is the price of an all-consuming love? In the lottery of life who are the real winners and losers? Is the secret to life really just “luck and doggedness”?

A thought-provoking, funny and heartfelt exploration of a family dealing (or not dealing) with disability and everything that goes with it.

We absolutely love this fantastic ensemble piece. An emotional rollercoaster of an evening inspired by Rory's personal family experiences. A gift for actors and audience alike.

Threepenny Theatricals is delighted to be able to bring you Rory Kinnear’s outstanding debut play as our first production of 2022. We’re bringing theatre back with a bang and we can’t wait for you to join us!

Organiser Threepenny Theatricals

Organiser of The Herd

We are Threepenny Theatricals (also known as 3-T) a small Edinburgh-based amateur theatre group producing high quality theatre on a tight budget. The company launched four years ago with our first production, the outstanding play "Elephants" by Rose Heiney at the Assembly Roxy. Since then we have performed “Dear Brutus” by J.M. Barrie and “The Hollow” by Agatha Christie. Our performances have received excellent feedback and glowing 4-star reviews!

After our first year we moved our productions to the larger Church Hill Theatre and after an enforced Covid hiatus, we are delighted to return for two productions in 2022.

All of our production and technical team have been working in professional and amateur theatre for many years both on and off stage.
