About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

As DEI practitioners create space for others, who holds space for them? This session will explore the psychological toll of leading inclusion work in an increasingly challenging climate. Drawing on practitioner insights and high-level research, the conversation will examine whether inclusion leaders receive adequate support, what factors may hinder this and how to overcome them. We will will lead an open dialogue on psychological safety, the challenges that keep practitioners awake at night and how we can care for ourselves while driving change.

This time we're offering this session free of charge to allow others to experience this session, who were unable to attend the UniteUnderOne festival. This time we're giving ourselves one hour vs the original thirty minutes so there is more time for sharing and dialogue.

We're also running this under Chatham House Rule.

Please send a message to the organiser if there is anything you'd like to share about how we can make this session as comfortable as possible for you. We will always provide as many options as possible for people to collaborate people in a way that suits them.

What is the Chatham House Rule ?

Chatham House Rule ‘When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.’

Why do we use it?

We use the Chatham House rule to ensure confidentiality to build an environment of trust where people can have open and honest discussions that lead to real and meaningful change.

How do we enforce it?

This means that on social media, you are free to post about the event, but you must not post anything that reveals the identity of anyone else in the group—for us, this means photographs/pictures or tagging individuals. Guests who break the rule cannot participate in any future events.
