The Highly Sensitive Person's Book Group "Wintering - part 3"
Overview
As the new year begins, January invites us to sink deeply into rest — the kind that heals rather than merely pauses.
In this third Wintering circle, “Learning to Rest”, we turn to the heart of Katherine May’s reflections on hibernation, nourishment, and the quiet work of renewal.
Together we’ll explore what it means to stop striving, to listen to the body’s wisdom, and to allow stillness to do its slow, invisible work. Expect a warm and gentle space for conversation, ritual, reflection, and guided rest.
Before this session, please read:
- January: Darkness and Hunger
- February: Snow and Cold Water
Themes in these chapters are: Hibernation and endurance, the wisdom of the body, deep rest as restoration, and the quiet power of survival.
These groups are free for members of HSPconnect.app
If you decide to join HSPconnect.app after the event, you’ll get a £10 discount code (the cost of your ticket, minus the Eventbrite fee). This means you can join for £39 instead of the usual £49 for a full year’s membership. Limited to one code per person.
This is part 1 of a 4-month book journey through Wintering by Katherine May. Sessions will be held on the last Sunday of the month in November, December, January and February.
There is an in-person small group day retreat on Saturday 3rd January 2026. A gentle day of rest and renewal inspired by Wintering — blending nature connection, reflection, and community in a cosy, nurturing setting.
