Description

The Cynon Valley Museum Trust (CVMT) are now entering the important transition period to return the Cynon Valley Museum & Gallery back to an operable venue for the community. This transition will take until at least 2018.To celebrate signing the lease CVMT will be holding a special re-opening ceremony on Saturday 3rd September from 11.00 am - 4.00 pm. Mr. Roy Noble from BBC Radio Wales will be our guest of honour to mark this memorable occasion.There will be a special exhibition called “Speed” to commemorate the famous Aberaman cyclists Arthur, Tom and Samuel Linton and Jimmy Michael.There will also be an exhibition about the campaign to “Keep Our Museum Open”, a talk on “The History of Cycling in the Cynon Valley”, children’s Crazy Bike Art Tracks, Bike Spin Art, Bicycle Wrapping, a fun cycling skills course for young people with prizes donated by Dare Valley Cycles and you really must come and try the “Smoothie Bikes”.The Board of Trustees and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council look forward to seeing the museum supporters, the campaign group, volunteers and the communityto join them at this special FREE event.
