In this talk, Patrick Russell from the British Film Institute (BFI) will explore the history of public information films, using clips and films to show the development of government
filmmaking.

Patrick heads up the non-fiction team at the BFI National Archive and specialises in the history of industrialised and sponsored film. He has also co-edited books, including Shadows of Progress: Documentary Film in Post-war Britain, and authored 100 British Documentaries.
