This in-person event is designed for 18-25 year olds.
Welcome to The (hi)story of Sustainable Fashion talk! Amber,18-25 Sustainability Hub Officer, will talk about different definitions and voices of sustainable fashion and understand why it's important to embrace all aspects of environmental, social and cultural sustainability of fashion. The seminar will also introduce an example of sustainable fashion objects in museums, where the history of fashion is presented in certain ways. For example, it will explore the use of waste materials in creating fashion jewellery from the 19th century. We will further discuss the notion of 'education vs commerce' in presenting sustainable fashion in an exhibition format while understanding the process of narrative-building.
