Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Filling your larder, shelves or cupboards with arrays of jams, jellies, chutneys, pesto, cordials and more, is probably one of the most satisfying and inspiring ways of using cooking to get in tune with what is going on in each season, in terms of food.

You are creating a treasure trove for children to be excited about when they come home from school, a store of things to inspire you to create more interesting meals,.... for me it brings back real childhood memories of my grandparents house and being asked to go down in to the cold room to get a jar of something or picking raspberries from the garden to make some jam..... there is something very comforting about this......

What are your earliest memories about food? For many, it is these sorts of experiences with grandparents..... at a time when things were more homemade and locally grown or made......

Would you like to get back to doing more of this? You will find things are cheaper done this way or filling a larder and sharing produce is also a great way of having a reason to pop next door to a neighbour to share something you have too much of or need to give away before it goes off..... so a great way to make new friends, or just inspire you to become more attuned to what is in season, what grows well in your own garden or local hedFilling your larder, shelves or cupboards with arrays of jams, jellies, chutneys, pesto, cordials and more, is probably one of the most satisfying and inspiring ways of using cooking to get in tune with what is going on in each season, in terms of food.
