Description

The Horizon37 Business Leadership Course is our flagship programme for leadership at C-suite/Board-level in the Sport and Physical Activity sector.

Over an intense three-week learning experience, participants build on existing knowledge and leadership strengths. You will apply new techniques in your day-to-day business, and set the course for consistently outstanding leadership performance.

Core modules cover: Setting Direction and Getting Buy-in; Strategic Planning for Action and Impact; Getting the Best from High-Performing Teams.

The course comprises three days of formal learning over three weeks: 2 x full-day training workshops in person and 2 x two-hour evening video conference sessions. Group work/practical application takes place between formal teaching sessions, and active networking is encouraged - your participation includes a networking breakfast.

Who are the participants on the course?

Leaders taking part in The Horizon37 Business Leadership Course will build relevant skills and ways of thinking to thrive as Board members, executive business leaders, entrepreneurs, and in other senior leadership roles.

The course participants are senior leaders, in particular CEOs/C-suite/Board-level leaders of small and medium-sized organisations. Typically they have substantial accountability and decision-rights e.g. manage >15 people / manage a P+L/budget >£500k / be a Board Member in an organisation of >50 staff or £2m turnover.

What is the curriculum?

17th Jan 9am-4pm WORKDAY DAY 1 – Setting Direction and Getting Buy-in

Session 1: Building and aligning on a vision

Study techniques for creating a vision that aligns your stakeholders. Learn how to ensure timely decisions and actions by building shared commitment and a sense of ownership.

Session 2: Communication and Presenting

Discover how to speak with conviction and credibility that resonates with your audience. Learn from feedback to excel in your presentations and informal discussions.

Session 3: The Panic Button

Identify your own physiological and psychological responses in “panic button moments”. Try out techniques for staying in control, and processes and phrases that keep things on track.

24th and 31st Jan 7-9pm Remote sessions via video conference – Strategic Planning for Action and Impact

Session 4: Triple-E Business Planning

Learn the “must-do” steps for effective, effortless and enjoyable business planning! Analyse the vital elements of practical business planning to inform operations and deliver results.

Session 5: Prioritisation (and how to say no)

Create the commitment, processes, and systems for making best use of time and resources. Focus on important tasks, to lead efficient teams and reduce frustration and procrastination.

7th Feb 9am-4pm WORKDAY 2 – Getting the Best from High-Performing Teams

Session 6: Structured Problem-solving

Learn an efficient process to solve problems, and make suitably-informed decisions that gain buy-in and lead to action and results. Apply to a live business problem for immediate impact.

Session 7: Building Motivation and Performance in Teams

Identify the characteristics, and drivers of performance, for senior teams. Use a simple framework to assess the purpose, people and practices needed for high-performance.

How do I reserve my place?

You can pay your deposit now to secure your place.

We will invoice you within 48 hours, and payment is due by 3rd January 2018 (early bird rates apply for payments made in full by 31st October).

As a confirmed participant, you will be offered a 20 minute executive leadership coaching call with Katy Tuncer to help you prepare for the course.

What is the refund policy?

Your deposit is non-refundable.

Your place can be transferred to another participant up to two weeks before the course, provided that person fulfils the participation guidelines and completes the registration information.

If you wish to cancel a place before the start of the course, you must inform us in writing. The following cancellation charges will apply and be payable by you on the date you cancel: on or before 6th December: deposit only; 7th December-2nd January 25% of the course fee; 3rd January-15th January 50% of the course fee. If you fail to cancel 48 hours before the course starts, fail to attend without informing us as above, or withdraw following the commencement of the course, 100% of the programme fee.

Any refunds due in accordance with the terms above, will be issued within 14 days of the cancellation date.

In the unlikely event that there are insufficient course participants to ensure a rewarding and beneficial experience for all, we may decide to cancel the course. If this occurs we will give you as much written notice by email as possible and, excluding exceptional circumstances, this would be before 2nd January. If we do cancel the programme we will reimburse any fees paid to us by you without delay.
