Event description

Description

Festive Theatre. Belt up and prepare for the ride of your life!

Visit The House of the Internal Combustion Engine, and be part of vivid, vibrant theatre that explores our love affair with the car - the freedom and ease, the innovation and prowess, the grease and the muck.

Cars have shaped our cities, our suburbs, our souls. Our first loves, our trusty companions, our lifelong friends. The spark inside the engine lit a fire in our hearts. By 2025, it is predicted that commercially available electric cars will be cheaper to buy than gasoline ones. What does this mean for our epoch-defining love affair?

As we collectively shift gear to electric, or apply the brakes, open the door and let our legs do the work, take a final, thrilling, wind-in-your-hair ride through the life and times of the motor car.

Created by theatre makers Gail Borrow and Katie Taylor, artist Peter Quinnell and engineer @PoorlyBeetle.
