Description

About the Training

It has been over three years since the Housing (Scotland) Act 2014 was passed by the Scottish parliament.

This Act proposes to introduce significant changes in many areas of housing management and practice for registered social landlords.

It would now appear that the regulations allowing implementation of the various proposals will be introduced this year with actual changes being phased over the following twelve months. Time will be factored in to allow landlords to prepare for the provisions coming into force.

The Act will mean changes in the following areas…

• Allocations and Suspensions

• Evictions based on criminal behaviour

• New rules on short SSTs based on previous antisocial behaviour

• Short SSTs for Homeowners

• Assignation, Subletting, Joint tenancies and Succession

• Recovery of properties designed or adapted for special needs
