The HUCBMS annual meeting is attended by university strategic leaders, heads of department, course management teams and academics from over 60 UK universities.
The meeting runs over two days and includes a programme of top-level policy-related talks from external speakers, alongside research and teaching focused sessions relating directly to Biomedical Science.
This year the conference will also see the inaugural award of the Presidents Medal, which is made to an individual for their outstanding contribution to Biomedical Science practice, teaching, and/or research.
Registration is from 12:00 on Tuesday 2nd September, with talks in the afternoon. There will then be a full schedule of talks on Wednesday 3rd September from 09:00-17:00.
The Conference is held at the University’s City South Campus, in the leafy Edgbaston district of Birmingham. A conference dinner will be held on the evening of Sept 3rd at The High Field, just a short walk from the conference venue.
For delegates arriving on Sept 2nd, there will be an optional social event in the evening.
It will include pizza and a “pint” in the Social Kitchen on our campus, with music provided by students from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. You are invited to participate in an escape room style activity, and a caricaturist will be in residence to capture the evening.
This would be an additional cost of £30 per person. Please indicate if you would like to add this activity when registering for the conference.
