The Equality Hub Network will be hosting a Human Library Event. This will take place on 17th of October during Black History Month to celebrate diversity and promote understanding of ethnicity, religion, no belief and sexual orientation.
Just like in a real library, a visitor to the Human Library can choose a Book from a range of titles. The difference is that Books are people, and reading is a conversation.
We will have a number of different "titles" for you to choose from;
- An older person,
- A young person,
- BME (Black and Minority Ethnic),
- A disabled person
- LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans) community,
- A person of Religious belief,
- A person of no Religious belief
- A woman
The event will run from 12.00 til 4.00pm in the Carpenter Room in the Central Library.
