Actions and Detail Panel
The Human Rights Act 1998 and Higher Education
Tue 7 March 2017, 14:00 – 15:00 GMT
This session will consider the relevance of the Human Rights Act 1998 to UK HEIs and what equality and diversity practitioners need to know about the Act. As universities have responsibility to abide by the convention rights set out in the Act, this session will explore the general implications of the Act as well as considering the particular circumstances and rights which may be particularly relevant in the HE sector. It will consider how equality and diversity are connected to human rights, and how practitioners can collaborate to address both these areas.’
Essential for anyone in a managerial role, a student support role and a HR role.
