About this event

Frequently asked questions

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for leaders, managers, HR professionals, and frontline staff across all sectors—particularly those working in health, justice, education, local government, or the voluntary sector. If you care about creating healthier, values-led workplaces, this is for you.

What will I gain from attending?

You'll leave with practical tools to strengthen team culture, address burnout risk, and lead with greater clarity and compassion. The session offers insight, reflection, and real-world strategies you can apply immediately in your organisation.

Is the event really free?

Yes. EmpathyWorks is offering this as a free trial workshop as part of our vision to bring compassionate leadership to more local organisations. We believe leadership development should be accessible, inclusive, and grounded in lived experience.

Will there be networking opportunities?

Absolutely. We’re bringing together a diverse mix of professionals across West Wales. Expect a warm, welcoming space to connect, share experiences, and spark ideas for future collaboration.

I’m not in a leadership role—can I still attend?

Yes. Leadership isn’t about job titles—it’s about how we show up in our teams and communities. If you’re someone who cares about wellbeing, team culture or positive change, you’ll feel right at home.

What should I bring?

Just yourself, an open mind, and a willingness to explore. We’ll provide everything else—including refreshments, workshop materials, and a space where your voice matters.

Introduction to EmpathyWorks

EmpathyWorks is a values-led leadership consultancy founded by Steve Robertson, an ex-Prison Governor and Cambridge-educated scholar of leadership. With lived experience leading in some of the UK’s most complex and high-pressure public service environments, Steve created EmpathyWorks to respond to a growing need for courageous, compassionate, and operationally grounded leadership development.

We work with organisations that operate under pressure, justice, health, defence, infrastructure, education and social care. We help leaders to build cultures of clarity, care and responsibility. Our programmes are not theoretical. They are shaped by real-world leadership demands and grounded in evidence-based practice.
