About this event

Pre-Requisite Knowledge : Some pre-course learning will be provided 1 week prior to the course.

Session Aims:

The Safeguarding Partnership (Board)s across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have worked with the Violence Reduction Network and Warren Larkin Associates to bring you this module which looks at Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Trauma and the impact that these can have on a child and into adulthood.

Session Objectives:

By the end of the session you will:

- Understand the potential impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and other potentially traumatizing life events on children and young people

- Have a greater understanding of behaviors in relation to Trauma and ACEs

- Have increased knowledge about why it is important to consider ACEs and trauma when working with children and young people

- Have some ideas about how this knowledge can assist you in your role to support

- Meet some or your safeguarding competency requirements

Max Capacity: 12 people

This is a 20 minute film about Tyler. Please be aware that this can be quite upsetting for people to watch so please have time to watch this in a private space and have someone that you can turn to for support if required.
