• Nuclear Power – The Chinese have been given the nod to build a new nuclear reactor at Bradwell-on-Sea and EDF have been given the nod to build another one at Sizewell in Suffolk.

• Nuclear Waste – Magnox have been dumping intermediate nuclear waste into the Blackwater Estuary near Maldon for about 18 months. Magnox have been authorised to import more waste from at least 2 other nuclear plants, making Bradwell-on-Sea (25 miles from Chelmsford) the new Sellafield nuclear dump.
