Event description

Description

Research and anecdotal evidence as well as the presenter’s clinical experience indicate that knowledgeable use of music can improve quality of life for persons living with dementia (PLWD). However, it also appears that best music practices for PLWD are not being fully realized and are generally not well understood. The presenter will outline rationale underlying the need for a sustainable best practices model for the use of music in dementia care. She will also refer to her own related research projects.

There will be tea and coffee available from 9.30am.
