The importance of the Tin Coast Mining Industry - Past and Present
Event Information
Description
Join Mike Simpson from Geevor Tin Mine and Kevin Baker from St Just Miners Research Group for an illuminating chat about the incredible stories we live amongst within the Tin Coast area, contribute what you know about the extraordinary history beneath our feet and all around us; and learn how to know and tell the stories of our place to all who visit us.
Bring your own maps, books stories and artefacts to shares if you have them; tea, coffee and biscuits provided!
The aim is to ensure all those participating come away with a greater sense of the heritage of our place, its relationship with the visitor economy, and how to protect, enjoy and share its value with our communities, and our visitors.
Please register your attendance for this free event. Tea and coffee will be flowing throughout the afternoon (as well as plenty of biscuits!), we hope to see you there!
Share this information with anyone who has an interest in the history and heritage of the Tin Coast. We encourage you to car share wherever possible, so please talk to your friends and neighbours.
The Tin Coast has received funding from the Coastal Communities Fund to help the local area plan for tourism in a way that supports the local economy, is respectful of the community, values the local landscape, history, wildlife, culture and looks at a better transport solution for all.
To do this, we have set up the Tin Coast Network. Open to all, we would like to invite you to take part and contribute alongside those who have already joined the Network to look at what we can achieve together, with the funding we have, over the next 14 months.
