The Innovators launches with a unique double-bill.
First, Matt Rank, Visual Effects Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic, gives an online presentation that takes us inside 20 years of ground-breaking work in virtual production, VFX, and immersive media. From Star Wars and The Mandalorian to The Batman and the revolutionary ABBA Voyage, Matt has led teams at ILM and Netflix that push the boundaries of storytelling and technology.
There will be Q&A! This is your chance to hear how the future of film, streaming, and live entertainment is being built - and to ask the questions you won’t hear answered anywhere else.
Alongside Matt’s talk, Manchester-based artist Spencer Marsden presents two immersive and interactive music sets, bookending the evening with soundscapes that blur performance, audience, and technology.
