Discussing moving from an “idea”, or a “topic”, to a “question” (and beyond?). Emphasising this as an ongoing process of refinement, in line with the project’s development.
This session will be particularly helpful for prospective PhD students to assist in finding and developing a research question. We will discuss the process for refining your focus of interest with the goal of generating the question/s you want to answer and the evolutionary process of conducting and refining your research.
Main Objectives :
You will have an understanding of the process of finding a question
You will learn methods of refining your question
You will gain an understanding of how research questions change as PhD research progresses
