Event description

Description

Explore the story and other Moomin characters to enhance your NDP and play therapy practice.

For parents, teachers, therapists, early years and kindergarten workers, teaching assistants, carers and counsellors.

This one day course addresses trauma and abuse that can often result in feeling ‘invisible’. Archetypal figures from fairy tales and body-based intervention can help to re-establish attachments, nurture and visibility. We shall use storytelling and art work to explore the story and other ‘Moomin’ characters.

Learning Outcomes:

1. An understanding of non-verbal and body-based intervention

2. A working knowledge of Fairy Tale archetypes

3. The application of Neuro-Dramatic-Play in child trauma

Tove Jansson's stories and my own doctoral research with the Temiar tribal peoples in Malaysia led me to observe and discover Neuro-Dramatic-Play (NDP) as a developmental paradigm that marks the earliest attachment-based play during pregnancy and the early months. NDP is an extension of my earlier research ‘Embodiment-Projection-Role' (EPR) that influences positive attachment, the development of empathy and emotional intelligence. NDP and EPR are now taught worldwide and are well established in education and therapy.

This course can be credited towards NDP diploma. Please email Dr Sue at drsue@ndlpltd.org and creativecare.office@gmail.com for details of the diploma package.

Fee: includes an ample lunch, snacks and resource bag

PLEASE NOTE: We shall have a celebration at the end of this course to mark Dr Sue’s retirement from ‘live’ NDP training courses. We hope you can stay for an hour or so! Food provided!
