This presentation will encapsulate some of the wonders and curiosities of the largely unseen universe of fungi. The vast underground mycelial network operates in symbiosis with plant life that is visible overground, bringing nutrients to plant life as well as operating as a "wood wide web" - a data highway that keeps plants in touch with one another.

The multiplicity of fungal organisms includes invisible, air borne yeast spores to a single unit measuring 3.4 miles, living in the Oregon Blue Mountains for almost two and a half thousand years.

Expect to be filled with astonishment as you discover the fundamental importance of the role of fungi in the health and viability of the entire organic structure of the world.

The webinar is hosted by Deena J Kestenbaum, as part of the Finchley Pollinator Project's autumn initiative which we call Buzzy Bulbs & Meadows.
