KOICHI SAKAI:

Tokyo born, London based DJ, producer and musician who is widely recognised for his highly developed, unique style which reflects the varied influences that have continuously informed his creativity and career. His musical style is Jazzy and percussive; playing a distinctive and smooth mix of Soul, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Latin and Afrobeat. Sakai was the resident DJ for Afrobeat Vibration for 10 years with the former Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 keyboardist Dele Sosimi since 2008. Sakai has released his solo album “Wono” featuring the Ghanaian percussionist and singer Afla Sackey in 2020, which is available on vinyl and digital.

Reformed Society is a project run by Harsh Puri. Deejaying for over 20 years and having a relentless appetite for digging records has allowed him to delve into music of all kinds from different corners of the world. This naturally led to the creation of a more club focused night Play at The Waiting Room and a more eclectic night Downplay at Brilliant Corners both of which he has been running for 3 years. Harsh is in the constant process of creating new music with several vinyl releases under his belt spanning music from Ambient to Deep House, Detroit Techno and beyond.
