The James Brothers | Sunday 17 February | 7pm Doors

James Fagan and Jamie McClennan

The James Brothers are not outlaws, neither are they brothers and only one of them is called James. They come from the lands down under – Australia and New Zealand to be precise; lands in which the traditional songs and tunes of the British Isles have evolved their own unique characteristics, like musical marsupials. Drawing from the folk, blues and bluegrass that inspired them, the Brothers’ repertoire includes songs about convicts, ships, railways and wallabies – and rip-roaring tunes.

Concert Tickets £12, Students and U19s £6, Combined workshop and concert ticket £20

Australian and New Zealand Folk Songs Workshop with The James Brothers

Sunday 17 February | 4.30pm – 6pm

Be inspired to explore some new repertoire from Australia and New Zealand with these engaging and fun-loving antipodeans. James and Jamie are very experienced professional performers and teachers. James is one of the core singing tutors on the Folk Degree at University of Newcastle.

Singers of all abilities are welcome to come and learn new songs, and there will be time spent too on how to approach arranging songs, so singers with instruments would be welcome to bring them along too.

Lyric sheets will be provided and participants are encouraged to bring a recording device to keep a note of the melodies.

Workshop Tickets £12, Combined concert and workshop ticket £20
