About this event

Business • Environment & Sustainability

Farming has long been an essential element of Island life. Over recent years Jersey has revitalised community investment in the farming sector and this coupled with the entrepreneurial skills of farmers and marketeers has enabled improved profitability, increased diversity in produce, prompted the emergence of new businesses and interest from next generation farmers ... importantly there has been a resurgence of confidence in the sector.

Food security, in harmony with nature, remains an essential task – producing healthy food is the foundation of agricultural policy and is the foundation of our society. Many farmers are already working towards a more sustainable form of agriculture. That is the only way to secure the supply of food for the future. This year’s conference is the time to bring together the farming industry and government to acknowledge recent successes and identify how we can continue to work together for the future.

The Jersey Farming Conference is organised by Farm Jersey with funding from the Government of Jersey. The conference is being sponsored by Jersey Water with the mid-morning session being sponsored by local investment management specialists, Evelyn Partners and the locally sourced lunch being sponsored by Normans Agri-Garden.

For the full list of speakers and the programme please go to www.jerseyfarmingconference.com/.

The conference is open to all businesses and individuals who have an interest in the rural economy and we look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible.
