About this event

Charity & Causes • Other

We’re delighted to be hosting this event in collaboration with Amar Latif OBE, who is a blind adventurer, entrepreneur, presenter, and founder of Traveleyes, a pioneering tour operator that pairs blind and sighted travellers. Amar joined the Ramblers as President in 2023, and he will be sharing his experiences of walking and adventurous activities.

Everyone should be able to enjoy the pleasures of walking and being visually impaired shouldn’t be a barrier. In this special event, we’ll talk to Amar and other special guests to dig into how they got into walking and the benefits of walking. We’ll also hear top tips from Ramblers Groups on how best to support visually impaired walkers and the steps you can take to make your walks more accessible.

Our speakers include:

  • Jamie Ward, the Chair of London Blind Ramblers on how he got into walking with the Ramblers; the history of the group and how they operate.
  • Jackie Gower from West London Ramblers who regularly host the London Blind Ramblers to talk about their experiences of guiding.
  • Terry Robinson, a visually impaired Rambler's member based in Glasgow on his experiences of walking with visual impairment.

We’ll also open the floor so you can ask the panel your own questions.

The session will be hosted on Zoom. Sign up now and we’ll send you the joining link via email a couple of days before the event.

We can’t wait to see you there!
