Join us in Black Park for our Jurassic Jungle Dinosaur Trail!

Collect your map and quiz sheet from the Visitor Centre and see if you can find all the dinosaurs hidden in the woods! It's going to be ROARsome!

Running Tuesday 26th August - Friday 29th August 2025.

All attending children must purchase a ticket. ONLINE PRICE - £2.00 plus booking fee per child, includes map, quiz sheet, pencil and experience. Adults and young babies in prams go free.

You are advised to book online. As long as your chosen timeslot hasn't sold out, a limited number of tickets will be available to purchase on the day, however 'On The Day Tickets' will be sold at £3.00 per child. Card payments only.

Please note we will not be providing prizes, this price is for the experience only.

The trail is packed down from 2:30pm so please start the trail promptly if you would like to visit all the stops. You can arrive at any point during your half an hour window to start the trail.

We have a SEND inclusive session with reduced numbers available at 2pm on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th. For full details book here.

Meeting Point: Black Park Visitor Centre (located next to the Lakeside café). Just follow the signs anti-clockwise around the lake from the car park to the visitor centre - it is about a 10 minute walk. Buggies are welcome! A map marking the route to the start point is shown below (follow the yellow routes, to the red arrow).

What is included in the trail price?

You will receive a map, quiz sheet and pencil to help you find all the dinosaurs hidden around Black Park. Please note there are no prizes included, you are paying for the experience. This is to keep the price of the trail low and to reduce waste.

What time should I arrive to do the trail?

On booking, you will choose a time slot on your chosen day. Please ensure you arrive within your alloted time slot to take part in the trail. Meeting point is at Black Park visitor centre, close to the lake and the Lakeside Cafe (see map to the start point below). The trail is self-led using a map and dino quiz.

Why do I need to pre-book for this trail?

You are advised to book online to avoid disappointment, and it is cheaper to do so! As long as your chosen timeslot hasn't sold out, a limited number of tickets will be available to purchase on the day, however these will be sold at £3.00 per child (by card payment only). Please note discounted prices are available online only.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All ages welcome. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Black Park Country Park has a Pay and Display Public Car Park. Car parking charges will always apply unless specifically stated, you can check charges on our website.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring any drinks and snacks required for the duration of the trail. Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear - the pathways can be muddy and uneven.

Is the trail pram/buggy/wheelchair friendly?

Please note this trail follows main paths across predominantly flat terrain, but some areas have exposed roots, muddy, and uneven surfaces.

Can I bring a dog on the trail?

Yes! Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome on the trail.

How long does the trail take?

The trail should take families roughly one hour to complete.

What's the refund policy?

A full refund will be issued for cancellations made a minimum of 7 days prior to the event date. Refunds will not be issued for late cancellations, illness or no-shows. Eventbrite's fees are non-refundable.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You can either bring your printed ticket or show your eticket on your mobile phone on arrival.

Buckinghamshire Country Parks are managed by the Country Parks Team on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council.  The Team are based at the Countryside Centre in Black Park Country Park, accessible via the Visitor Centre. They are responsible for the day to day running, maintenance and management of the Country Parks, together with conservation work and events.
