Starting at the village hall we will walk up through Crow wood onto the Kintyre Way. We will head westwards, then follow a forestry road to Grianan , where we will pick up the Kintyre Way again, circling back to Portnastorm and back to the Village hall. There will be a stop at the viewpoint, taking in fabulous views of the Isle of Arran and the Kilbrannan Sound. It's a circular walk, approx 10k.. Another option is to add in the short but steep walk up the nearby Deer Hill to the trig point. This could be tackled before or after the main walk. But you'll maybe come back again for this one. There's always options on the Kintyre Way. Following the walk there will be an optional visit to the Carradale Flower Festival, where refreshments will be available.

6.25 miles, quite challenging, 3 hours

walking boots required, walking poles are always a good addition.

FRIENDS OF THE KINTYRE WAY

Friends of the Kintyre Way walks provide a great opportunity to explore Kintyre via The Kintyre Way and to meet other Friends of the Kintyre Way, so please come along to as many of the walks as you can. It will also be an opportunity to showcase that Wild and Beautiful 100-mile route that we have on our doorstep. So please take plenty of photos of walkers having fun, the flora and fauna, and the marvellous scenery!
